Some news which has come to our attention which might be of use!

Random Sample Pack Generator

BYTE-Smasher (TMA and Renoise community member) has produced a command-line based random sample pack generator. This cool little tool will enable you to whip up compo packs, or inspirational sets of instruments from your existing collection of samples. Available in both executable and Perl script from these following links: Windows EXE - Perl script.

Flash MOD player

To quote Bad Sector's forum post:

I finally managed to implement most commands and test them with MilkyTracker (which is accurate enough). A few commands (three to be exact) aren't implemented yet, one of them will be soon. But all of them are rare and most modules play without problem. Also commands about panning are ignored because there is nothing to pan - the playback is in mono.

The player is written in haXe but it should be easy to use it with the normal Flash IDE (by generating the ActionScript 3 code with haXe's -as3 flag). The code is licensed under the zlib license, so you can use it without obligations.

New NitroTracker Version Out, Forums & IRC

To Quote highlights from Tob's (author of NitroTracker) news release:

NitroTracker v0.4 is finally out and ready for download!

The main new features are: Loops, Volume Envelopes (drawable), Multi-Sample instruments, Channel Mute / Solo - and many tiny improvements

There's hardly a part of the program that wasn't touched since the last release. I've paid a lot of attention to detail in order to make NitroTracker an easy and convenient to use, yet powerful mobile tracker.

New Tutorials

The documentation has been updated with new tutorials on editing samples and loops. You can learn how to tune your instruments and apply volume envelopes and how to hook up the DS to MIDI.

It's tested!

The NitroTracker beta testers have intensely tested this new release for months to ensure I didn't miss even a single bug. And they sure kept me busy! Thanks a lot you guys! If you want to join the fun, just drop me an e-mail! (via NitroTracker website or Forums, see below)

Today, the Official NitroTracker Forum kindly hosted by the Mod Archive opens! No matter if you have questions, want to share your work, suggest new features or report bugs, this is the place.

Coder's Corner

A gap in the forums has been spotted! Therefore the Coder's Corner forum has been introduced.

Additionally, the Application Showcase and Wanted: Music for Projects forums have been moved to the Coder's Corner as sub-forums. :)

The purpose of this forum will be for technical and code related discussions - it's open to all who wish to contribute.

We now have a status chart of the current donation situation so that you can see how we're doing! If you have a few spare pennies please consider throwing them into the fund as every little helps - we need to keep the fund topped up so that we don't find the site suddenly running out of funds.
